Gregorio Uribe es un cantautor y acordeonista colombiano nominado al Latin Grammy, reconocido por fusionar ritmos tradicionales con influencias globales. Ha llevado su música a escenarios emblemáticos como Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden y el Teatro Colón de Bogotá, entre otros. Además, ha colaborado con destacados artistas como Rubén Blades, Carlos Vives y Paquito D’Rivera.
Su tercer álbum, Hombre Absurdo, nominado al Latin Grammy en 2023, es una "cumbia existencial" que mezcla los estilos de los juglares del Caribe colombiano con referencias literarias y mitológicas. Con una fuerte presencia de acordeón y percusión, el disco fue presentado en el aclamado Tiny Desk de NPR.
Antes de esto, lanzó Pluma y Vino, un álbum influenciado por el bolero y el vals, y Cumbia Universal, donde fusionó cumbia y jazz con su big band, en colaboración con el icónico Rubén Blades. Este último álbum figuró en Billboard y lo llevó a presentarse en escenarios como el Jazz at Lincoln Center y el Teatro Colón de Bogotá.
Uribe ha trabajado con artistas como Monsieur Periné y Jorge Villamizar, y ha participado en proyectos como Marc Anthony for Babies y el best sellerHOME de Deepak Chopra. Fue reconocido como uno de los "100 colombianos más exitosos en el extranjero" y lidera Sounds of Colombia, un innovador proyecto de turismo musical. Actualmente, sigue promoviendo Hombre Absurdo, explorando nuevas colaboraciones y preparando su próximo disco de acordeón.

Gregorio Uribe is a Latin Grammy-nominated Colombian singer-songwriter and accordionist known for his ability to blend traditional Colombian rhythms with diverse global influences. He has performed at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall,Madison Square Garden, and Jazz at Lincoln Center, as well as in more intimate settings, like the patios of Montes de María in Colombia. Over the years, he has collaborated with renowned artists like Rubén Blades, Carlos Vives, and Paquito D'Rivera, as well as masters of Colombian folk music such as Martina Camargo and Diego Obregón.
In 2023, Uribe released his third album, Hombre Absurdo, which earned him his first Latin Grammy nomination. Deeply influenced by the storytelling traditions of Colombian Caribbean minstrels, the album incorporates literary and mythological themes, drawing inspiration from existentialist authors and Greek myths. With a prominent presence of accordion and powerful, percussion-driven Colombian grooves, Hombre Absurdo is what Uribe describes as an "existential cumbia." The album was also featured on NPR's acclaimed Tiny Desk series, where it received a strong audience response.
Prior to this, Uribe released Pluma y Vino, an album showcasing a mix of bolero, rumba, waltz, and marimba guapireña, and Cumbia Universal, a big band project that fused Colombian Caribbean rhythms like cumbia, chandé, and porro with jazz. The latter featured the iconic Rubén Blades and included artists from Senegal, Israel, Portugal, and Argentina, achieving international recognition and charting on Billboard.
Beyond his solo work, Uribe has collaborated with a variety of Latin Grammy-winning artists, including Monsieur Periné, Jorge Villamizar (Bacilos), and Mariachi Flor de Toloache. He also participated in the Latin Grammy-winning album Marc Anthony for Babies and the New York Times best-selling album HOME: Where Everyone is Welcome by Deepak Chopra.
In addition to his music career, Uribe is an innovator in music tourism through his Sounds of Colombia project, which offers international travelers the opportunity to explore Colombia’s rich musical traditions alongside local musicians. Recognized by the Colombian government as one of the "100 Most Successful Colombians Abroad," Uribe continues to promote Hombre Absurdo internationally while exploring new collaborations and expanding his artistic vision in preparation for his next album, which will feature the accordion in a unique way.
